What We Thought:
Quite simply, Charlotte Ronson Spring/Summer 2015 was among our favorite presentations this Fashion Week. Between the beautiful baby blues of the collection, to the pattern play (proof that you can have your polka dots and florals too), to the boyish elements which became charming when tailored to the female form, the details gave off a feeling of sun-soaked and carefree beauty. It certainly helped that the ambiance was kept fun, fresh, and upbeat thanks to the live spinning of Sam Ronson too, who had a touching tribute in front of her setup featuring a quote from the late Joan Rivers.
There are interesting structural contrasts throughout the collection, such as the conservatively tailored oxford shirt and “boxy” denim vest to the more free-flowing camis and sheer, flirty tops. The shoes by Teva exuded the spirit of a woman totally comfortable in her own skin, and the sunnies by Illesteva are among the things added to our wishlist, with their retro inspired style.
