“It’s the most colorful collection I’ve ever done… but it’s still dark!” – Brandon Sun

Brandon Sun Spring/Summer 2015 featured contrasting materials like jacquard fabric and fur that gave it its sporty but luxurious vibe. Adding to that a very vibrant color palette of red, pink, and green, and voila – enter Sun’s latest collection.

MAKEUP:
Red Door Spa makeup artist Cesar Olivas delivered an envious glow to the models that enhanced their effortlessly natural beauty, keeping things neutral to further bring out the color of the clothes. Skin looked remarkably dewy in all the right places, while the T-zone was mattified. To achieve this balance, Olivas used Red Door Spa Professional Illuminating Vitamin C Activator to bring out the glow of the skin and Clarifying Mattifier to maintain a shine-free T-zone. He then treated the eye area with Age Defense Multi Peptide Eye Concentrate for extra TLC.

Overall, the makeup look was a divine balance of dewy and matte techniques- including applying cream blush to the apples of cheeks, sweeping a luminous highlighter on the top of cheeks, and selecting soft matte shades for the eyes (delicate pink, purple, and a hint of blue/purple in the inner corners of the eyes) and lips.

HAIR:
We saw a lot of nice ponytails this season accompanying the Spring/Summer 2015 collections, no matter how different the designers and their aesthetics are. Still, of all the styles we encountered, being behind the scenes with Brandon Sun as he prepped his market appointment-style presentation led us to our favorite hairstyle this season: the bohemian, beachy braid of sorts that looks perfectly tousled and quite frankly reminds us of a mermaid – it’s delightful. Part of us wishes we could wake up with hair like this on the regular.

Watching Woody Michleb (Red Door Spa Creative Director and National Training Director, Hair) create the look, we observed him loosely curling models’ hair with a flat iron before gently shaking the curls out and pulling them back into a classic braid. With hair kept sleek in the front and pulled away from the face, pieces of the braid were then randomly pulled out to pump up the textural style.

NAILS:
On nails, Red Door Spa National Director of Nails Services Adeline Sarino kept things simple with a beachy light grey/blue shade by Essie called “Meet The Parents.’
