What We Thought:
CZAR by Cesar Galindo Spring/Summer 2015 is an illustrator’s dream. The proof: the many illustrators sprawled on the floor engrossed in their rapid fire, live sketching of the collection. If SS 2015 is about vacationing, we definitely felt it. The tufts of white material that laid the foundation for models to stand on during the presentation reminded us of the white foam of ocean water massaging a sandy beach – and our recurring daydreams of our next beachy vacation.
Galindo kept things colorful and vibrant—as he tends to be known for doing—and offered an array of short numbers amidst slightly more covered up ones… the kinds of outfits that are instantly on our to-pack list for a jetsetting trip that requires versatile day-to-night looks. It was a palette of playful hues fit for the tropics, along with a range of two-toned and glitzy pieces in peach, goldenrod yellow, and hot pinks that peppered the presentation. With models’ hair pulled back into a tight braid wrapped in the illusion of gold foil and eyes accented with a pop of blue, it wasn’t hard to think of the beauty and relaxed fits of the Caribbean and its fashions.
