WHAT WE THOUGHT:
Nicole Miller awakened the audience with a clash of biker-punk, florals, tribal patterns and geometric shapes. She mixed the collection by including flowing tops, jumpers and dresses featuring colorful floral prints. Refreshing pops of color added whimsy to the biker-punk looks while lines in black and white lend gravity to the tropical patterns.
Bold colors peeked through monotone vests and jackets, which were woven into smaller geometric shapes. The colors got warmer as a splotchy, “space clouds” was revealed with the florals. Beading often added some sparkle to the designs. Miller rounded out the collection with straightforward flowing trains.
Each look was paired with strappy heels or wedges often in black, white or brown. The models were right on trend with sleek, shiny, pin-straight hair, several sporting braids. Bright teal or pink eyeshadow highlighted an otherwise bare face. Contrasting nails featured a deep metallic grey in what felt like Miller’s adaptation of 80s punk, 90s rave and modern florals. – Lexie Ramage
