#NYFW: MESKITA Spring/Summer 2015
Show: MESKITA Spring/Summer 2015
Inspiration: For her Spring/Summer 2015 line, designer Alessandra Meskita was inspired by the dynasty of Egypt and the goddess’ of life and creativity. The resulting collection aims to embody the modern woman of benevolence and strength.

What We Thought:
The first look down the runway set the tone: it was gold. From the Nile blossoms to the tones of the Sahara Desert, MESKITA crafted a gold, gold, and more gold collection that fused various textures and fabrics together from chiffon and silk (hand-pleated!) to leather and neoprene. The resulting looks had both flowy and structural vibes. Silhouettes stayed close to the body, while the complementing beauty look of sleek, pulled back hair, Egyptian styled black eyeliner, and gold nails reaffirmed the Meskita SS 2015 woman as a vixen in command. While gold dominated the color scheme, we also saw peeks of blush pink and mint green in a gilded kind of finish reminiscent of the luxuries on the Egyptian empire. For the finale, models created a pyramid inspired formation that exuded feminine force and confidence.
