Hot! We Are Toasting Fashion Week’s NKOTB With a Signature Drink

Fashion and late night benders involving lots of gratuitous consumption of alcohol (especially during fashion week) is as common as breathing. The presence of savory cocktails leads to a much nicer experience. Naturally in honor of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, we’ve taken it upon ourselves to toast five new designers, whose style we just love, with a signature drink; because that’s just how we roll. You’re welcome kids.

Tanya Taylor is a designer you'll want to keep on your radar. Her pieces are vintage inspired but with a bit of harder edge. So you get a mix of flowing pieces, with sharp contrast and whimsical designs. The results are fun wearable pieces.

The cocktail has a timeless and feminine feel. The ingredients are a nice contrast of bitter (the grapefruit flavor) with a surprising hint of sweet (simple syrup) keeping it both pleasant and delicious.

Belvedere Hound
35ml Belvedere Vodka
15ml Grapefruit Juice
Dash Grapefruit bitters
Dash simple syrup

Directions: Shake, strain and pour into a coupe with a lemon twist.

Marissa Webb- Formally, the head of womenswear design for J.crew is branching into her own clothing line and we are thrilled. Her designs mix masculine aspects (such as structured pants) but with feminine designs. The result are elegant and soft but not overly freely designs.

Belvedere Raspberry Julep
1.5 oz Belvedere Vodka
½ oz simple syrup
Handful fresh mint
Fever tree soda water

Directions: Add all ingredients to a julep or rocks glass. Add crushed ice and churn. Add a splash of fever tree soda water and garnish with a mint sprig and a fresh raspberry.

Tia Cibani:  Formerly head designer at Ports 1961 is now launching her line. We are thrilled. Her designs are girly, lots of fun prints, and frilly but not overly dramatic.

This lovely girly cocktail to complement Cibani's fun collection. The cranberry gives it a nice tint of pink and the Rose's lime juice adds a bright, refreshing taste.

Belvedere War of the Roses
50ml/2 oz Belvedere Vodka
50ml/2oz Cranberry juice
12.5ml/½oz Roses lime cordial
Directions: Build over ice and serve in a highball. Garnish with a wedge of lime.

Holmes & Yang-- Though technically not new, the duo (Katie Holmes and Jeanne Yang) is set to make a splashy debut this season. The designs are very traditional but with just the right amount of hip.

Belvedere Cucumber Fresca
1.5 oz Belvedere Vodka
6 slices cucumber
½ simple syrup
¼ lemon juice
Fever Tree Lemonade

Directions: Muddle cucumber with simple syrup. Add rest of ingredients, top with crushed ice, churn and re-top with crushed ice. Top with Fever Tree Lemonade and serve in a highball glass.

Rachel Zoe: Okay, Zoe, is not a new designer but for the first time she is showcasing her designs in the tents which is a big step. As know Zoe has a penchant for understated glamour.
