Five Mascaras you Need in Your Beauty Bag Right Now

What gal doesn’t love mascara? Whether its a busy woman who barely wears makeup or someone who always has a perfectly made-up face, mascara it seems is always a treasure possession among most women; still finding “the perfect one” that will make the eyes pop is a daunting task, especially in the sea of options available at the beauty counter.  As someone who-and I don’t mean to brag (okay maybe a little)-has been blessed with naturally long eyelashes, I am not exactly sad about the vast options, in fact I am always on the prowl for new offerings. So, I’ve tested a lot of mascara.

What, I’ve discovered may surprise you – for instance the industry leader in great lashes the “Maybelline Great Lash Mascara” doesn’t do it for me. Obviously every mascara aims to achieve gorgeous eyes through its brush, formulation or combination but many fall short (at least for me) but others like the five below are on to something magical. Trust me.

Some of my current favorites

Dior DiorShow Mascara ($24.50) – Makeup artist and blogger Lisa Bensley of BeautyByBenz raves about DiorShow Mascara saying “[this is the] the best mascara on the planet. Hands down,” and I can’t help but agree (well one of the best at least). This mascara subtly extends the lashes but (most importantly) without clumping. Therefore when its applied the eyes look fuller, bolder and gorgeous, but not artificial.

 

Napoleon Perdis Long Black Mascara ($22) – I am particularly smitten with this gem. If you have an unsteady hand, like I do, this mascara will make your life complete. It’s the easiest mascara to apply. The titled applicator effortlessly coats the lashes-as if individually. Unsurprisingly it offers amazing results and it’s full lashes that look stunning. To me my eyelashes looked like a spread of gorgeous little flower petals – no joke.

bare minerals Flawless Definition Curl & Lengthen Mascara ($18) – This great mascara does exactly what it claims and I love it. It curls and lengthen the lashes. The results are bold lashes that truly pop and look sexy. Here’s a tip-wait a couple of minutes after applying before you re-apply (if you need it) because for some reason the lashes magically get fuller after a few minutes. And, you will just love it.

Glominerals Volumizing Mascara ($19.50) – The perfect mascara for your beauty bag.  As it can easily transition from day to night with ease and style. You get soft lashes that are stricken but not overly overdone. And, why I am obsessed.

CoverGirl LashBlastFusion Volume + Length Mascara I love everything about this mascara. Firstly, the price is unbeatable. Secondly, there’s what it does for the lashes -make them look pretty and full. The applicator is just the right size so using is easy. However, the eyelashes are evenly coated resulting in fresh looking eyes.
