Beat the Heat and Celebrate National Watermelon Day
You guys there’s a day to celebrate watermelon. Sure, tequila day is special but if you know anything about us, a day devoted to watermelons, is a BIG Deal. The staple that signals that warm weather is in the midst and sunshine are perfect for beating and for pairing especially when you add a special little something to the mix! So, on National Watermelon Day (August 3rd) when you’re sipping poolside or by the seaside, don’t stress about mixing up a drink and serve new Sauza Sparkling Margarita Watermelon instead!
Avión Watermelon Cocktail
2 parts Avión Silver or Reposado
1 part Fresh Lime Juice
4 One-Inch Cubes Fresh Watermelon
Squeeze Agave Nectar
Directions: Muddle watermelon with agave nectar in a mixing glass. Add remaining ingredients, and shake vigorously with ice. Fine strain into a chilled cocktail glass, and garnish as desired.
WATERMELON & CUCUMBER COOLER
1/4 watermelon, chopped into pieces
1 cup water
juice from 2 limes
1/2 cup sugar
1 oz FAIR vodka
Directions: Start by placing the watermelon meat in a blender and blend until it's a pulp, do this in batches and pour into a sifter that you place over a bowl. Discard the pulp. In a small saucepan bring water, lime and sugar to the boil and let it simmer for 10 minutes. Cool down completely. Fill 4 mason jars with ice and sliced cucumber. Fill up 1/2 with the watermelon juice, the rest with simple syrup, FAIR Quinoa vodka and a splash of soda on top. Garnish with lemon and cucumber and enjoy.
1.5 oz lemonade concentrate
1 bottle WTRMLN WTR
2 stalks lemongrass
8 drops coconut extract
2 inch knob of ginger
2 tbsp honey
handful of mint & lavender
.25 oz yellow chartreuse
1.5 oz lemon vodka
Top with WTRMLN WTR
Directions: combine ingredients and serve over ice - garnish with mint & lemon
2 oz Prairie Cucumber Flavored Vodka
2 1-inch cubes of seedless watermelon
1 diced lime (bitter ends removed)
1 oz organic agave nectar
Salt 1 cucumber slice
Directions: Mix all ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake, then serve in a lowball glass over ice with a lightly salted rim. Garnish with a slice of cucumber.
2 oz Caliche Rum
¾ oz St-Germain Liqueur
¾ oz fresh squeezed lime juice
½ oz simple syrup
4 watermelon chunks
Directions: Muddle watermelon in a cocktail shaker. Add additional ingredients and shake with ice. Fine strain into a rocks glass. Garnish with a watermelon wedge.

¾ oz lime juice
½ oz agave nectar
2 oz Tito’s Vodka
3 dashes Thai bitters
Directions: In a tin, muddle 3 watermelon cubes with Thai basil and the ingredients. shake with ice and strain into a rocks glass with cubed ice
garnish with 2 skewered watermelon cubes and a Thai basil sprig.
2 parts Cruz Silver Tequila
¾ part Crown Maple Syrup
1 lime squeezed
¼ part fresh watermelon
½ part filtered water
Directions: Shake all ingredients with ice and strain over fresh ice. Garnish with a watermelon slice.
2 parts Maker’s Mark Bourbon
2 parts fresh-pressed watermelon juice (or 1 part of a good-quality bottled puree)
1 part fresh-squeeze lemon juice
½ part simple syrup
Directions: Build in a mixing glass, then shake & pour over fresh ice in a Collins glass. Garnish with a lemon slice, if desired.
Watermelon & Basil Margarita
2 parts Sauza® Blue Silver 100% Agave Tequila
1 part DeKuyper® Triple Sec
Juice of one whole lime
(4) 1” cubes of seedless watermelon
Fresh basil leaves (2 to muddle; the rest for garnish)
Lime wedge (for garnish)
Directions: In a mixing glass drop in the watermelon and basil leaves (tear the leaves) then muddle. Add all remaining ingredients and shake vigorously with ice. Double strain the cocktail over fresh ice in a glass. Garnish with a lime wedge and fresh basil leaves.
SPIKED WATERMELON BALLS
1/2 cup Casa Noble Tequila
1/4 Watermelon- small and ripe
1/3 cup Water
1/3 cup Sugar
1/3 cup Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice
1 tspn. Grated Lime Peel
Directions: Bring the water to a boil. Stir in sugar and simmer for 3 minutes. Add Casa Noble tequila
and simmer for another 2 minutes. Remove from the heat and allow to cool somewhat
before adding the lime juice and the grated lime peel. Cut melons into balls with a melon
baller. Pour the syrup over the fruit, mix gently, cover and chill for several hours before
serving. Serves 8 to 10.
