Hot! TGIF Cocktail Recipe of the Day: Celebrating National Tequila Day

Its my favorite time of the year, right after the Nordstrom’s bi-annual sale. Its National Tequila day (and here are ten surprising facts about tequila) and I am all here for some serious celebration. In honor of the day and since its Friday, I am sharing some delicious cocktails to celebrate with style.

Blueberry Margaritas

The Endless Summer
2 oz. Avión Reposado
2 oz. Pineapple Juice
1 oz. Soda water finish

Directions: Combine tequila and pineapple juice over ice in a tall glass and stir until chilled. Add a splash of soda and garnish with a lime wheel.

Partida Raspberry Collins
1 3/4 oz Partida Blanco Tequila
3/4 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
3/4 oz Partida Organic Agave Nectar (Cut 50/50 with water)
8 to 10 Raspberries

Directions: Shake all ingredients with ice and strain over fresh ice into a highball glass. Top with sparkling water or club soda.
Garnish: Lemon twist and 3 Raspberries on a pick.

Añejo Old Fashioned

2 slices of Orange
2 Scoops of Sugar
3 Drops Angostura Bitters
½ oz Herradura Añejo
1-2 Brandied Cherries

Directions: In an Old Fashioned glass muddle the orange slices, sugar, and bitters. Add ice sphere to glass. Add Herradura Añejo. Garnish with brandied cherries.

Blueberry Margarita
1/2 parts Sauza® Signature Blue Silver 100% Agave Tequila

1/4 part JDK & Sons™ O3 Premium Orange Liqueur
1/4 pint blueberries
1/4 part agave nectar (or 1/2 teaspoon sugar)
Juice of 3/4 lime

Direction: Wash your blueberries, reserving a few for garnish. In a shaker, muddle together blueberries and agave or sugar. Strain through a sieve into a Mason Jar over ice, rimmed with sugar or salt. Add the remaining ingredients and enjoy!

Tres Aperol Sunset

2 parts Tres Agaves Blanco Tequila
1 part Aperol
1 part Tres Agaves Cocktail-Ready Agave Nectar
¾ part fresh-squeezed lemon juice
½ part fresh-squeezed grapefruit juice
1 edible flower, for garnish

Directions: Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice.  Shake vigorously and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.  Garnish with the flower. 

CRUZ Old Fashioned

2 parts Cruz Reposado Tequila
½ part Crown Maple syrup
2 dashes Peychaud’s bitters
2 dashes Orange bitters
1 slice orange rind
1 slice grapefruit rind

Directions: Combine all ingredients except rinds with ice and stir for 40 seconds. Garnish with an orange and grapefruit rind.

2 parts QUI Tequila
¾ part fresh lemon juice
¾ part Maraschino liqueur
¼ part crème de violette

Directions: Add all ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake for 5 seconds and double strain into a coup glass. Garnish with a lemon twist.

Lil Mizz Sunshine

6 oz Roca Patrón Reposado
2 oz Patrón Citrónge Mango
3 oz Orange/Chamomile Tea-Infused Sweet Vermouth
3 oz Lime Juice
10 White Sugar Cubes
6 oz Club Soda

Directions: Muddle sugar cubes with lime juice, Stir all ingredients (except for club soda) with ice. Strain over 1 large block of ice. Add club soda, and garnish with orange wheels and edible flowers.

*Orange Chamomile infused sweet vermouth:
-5 tsp Orange Chamomile Tea Leaves
-750ml Dolin Sweet Vermouth

Infuse tea in vermouth for 2 hours. After 2 hours, strain out tea and refrigerate.

**Serves 4/5**

Ginger Palomina

2 oz. Casa Noble Crystal
.5 oz. lime
2 oz. fresh grapefruit
.25 oz. agave nectar

Directions: Mix together the first 4 ingredients in a shaker. Pour over fresh ice in a salted Collins glass. Top with 2 oz. ginger beer. Garnish with a floating lime wheel.

Mad Mango

2 oz Partida Reposado Tequila
½  oz agave nectar
¾ oz fresh lime juice
½ oz mango puree
2​ ​jalapeño disc/slices
​​
Directions: In shaker, muddle 1​ ​jalapeño disc with agave nectar.  Add ingredients into shaker and shake over ice.  Strain over ice, garnish with jalapeño disc floating on top.
