Hot! Tyler Florence Designs the Kitchen of the Year

Admittedly, most New Yorkers don’t have the luxury of a grand kitchen (if they even have one at all), there’s just no room but one can dream about a fabulous kitchen would look like. If given a choice what would your dream kitchen look like? We can tell you one thing our dream kitchen would like very much like this year’s Kitchen of the Year (KOTY) as presented by House Beautiful and designed by celebrity chef Tyler Florence.

We got a sneak peek at the KOTY earlier this week during a special presentation and its later official party at its current home in Rockefeller center. “We’ve brought a Northern California sensibility to it, a more rustic and cozy feel, and a fantastic point of view right in the middle of Rockefeller Center,” explained the famed chef of the ideal kitchen. We have to agree his vision was well executed.

As you would imagine the kitchen is a dream and were excited the designer was able to walk us through the KOTY at the press event. The 2,500 square foot indoor and outdoor kitchen features (obviously) state of the art technology, a wood-burning stone oven (which was used to serve guests pizza), the most amazing counter tops we’ve ever seen, gorgeous accents scattered throughout the space, and a host of other intricate details. Needless to say we were impressed with his work.

And, trust us you will love this kitchen as much as we do. Want to spy the kitchen? Head over to House Beautiful website for a virtual tour of the kitchen along with other special features. Or, you can pick up the October issue of the magazine which hit newsstands on September 13.

The private VIP reception help at the kitchen was attended by a slew of people despite the heat.  Guests in attendance included Kate Kelly Smith, Thom Filicia, Cathie Black, The Fabulous Beekman Boys, and other special VIP’s.
