The A-List on Logo Celebrate the Launch of the New Season
The cast of Logo Television’s The A-List: New York gathered for a meet and greet party at District 36 earlier this week to promote the upcoming 11 episode season. With new foxy female cast member Nyasha Zimucha, things are looking pretty interesting on The A-List. If you thought the first season was delicious, the upcoming season is sure to whet your whistle with provocative storylines, relationship joys and drama, and exciting career undertakings. Press gathered for an open bar cocktail hour to greet each of the cast members personally, all of whom were happy to chit chat about the network, the show, and their upcoming endeavors.
Nyasha Zimucha, former Miss Africa USA, joins the formerly all male cast for the upcoming season and is known for her recent role as a judge on Little Miss Perfect, a show about child beauty pageants. She is also CEO of Embrace Your Hair, a hair and wig accessories company for women of all hair types. This season, Nyasha embarks upon her newest career move to conquer the music industry as a recording artist.
“I think it’s a very important time in American history right now with gay marriage being legalized in New York, and with the last two years with a Black president in the United States of America — I think it’s great. I think in entertainment, the world should not be any different. I think Black women are always typecast into certain roles, and it’s really fun to be the only Black female in an all White cast with Gay guys and an amazing network that is really expanding so much,” says Nyasha.
Austin Armacost (23), former Marc Jacobs beau, is now newly married to his husband Jake and will celebrate their one year anniversary with a wedding in New York this summer. Can we just say Austin was aglow with excitement on his new marriage?!
“We need to start having more respectable relationships. My husband and I have been together three years, happy, healthy, and lovely. I really want to set an example for young gay men. I look forward to the day that my husband can come to America on a Visa that says he is my husband”
Of course, we couldn’t end the night without speaking to the gorgeous and talented celebrity photographer and video director Mike Ruiz. In the hustle and bustle of launching a new T-shirt line and shooting a coffee table book, Mike was still pristine and confident.
“I think it’s going to be a really amazing season. It’s five knotches above last season, on every level.”
Mike sits on the board of several LGBT based charities, and is currently working on a T-shirt line that benefits the Ali Forney Center, a homeless LGBT youth center in New York! We love!
Not only were Logo’s A-Listers vibrant and enthusiastic, but the party was lively with a fantastic DJ mixing house under low flashing lights and a sparkling disco ball. Partygoers gathered in anticipation of meeting the fabulous cast members, and a dance floor quickly filled with fun loving fans.
