DJ Cassidy Celebrates 30 at The Intrepid Museum
How did you celebrate your birthday? We can tell you one thing (unless you are billionaire) it probably wasn’t as grand as DJ Cassidy‘s birthday celebration. This past Wednesday (July 6) the celebrity DJ – who has spinned for A-listers such as Beyonce and Jay-Z (including their wedding), Kimora Lee, Jennifer Lopez, Diddy, Mary J. Blide, Kanye West, Russell Simmons, Tommy Hilfiger, even President Obama – teamed up with Hennessy Black to celebrate with his big 3-0 with a massive bash with just a few hundred (900 or so to be exact) of his closet friends. Naturally, such a grand affair deserves a grand location and this year (past locations include Cipraini and the New York Public Library), DJ Cassidy managed to host this birthday affair at the Intrepid museum.

At the bash, attendees enjoyed interactive ice sculptures, grilled cheese sandwiches, marshmallow and chocolate puffs, firecrackers, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and of course great music from equally famous DJ’s – Doug E. Fresh, Samantha Ronson and Swizz Beatz; along of whom joyfully toasted the birthday boy “on his last birthday celebration.” The professional party starter wearing his bright-yellow suit, seemed to enjoy the experience and joined to the stage to interact with guests, explain his decision to end his legendary parties at 30 and gleefully introduced the surprise guest performance from New Edition.

In addition to the speciality acts other notable people in attendance included Adrienne Bailon, B.J. Coleman, Chanel Iman , Charlotte Ronson, Damaris Lewis (who was sweetest person), Carmelo Anthony, Dahntay Jones, DJ Kiss, DJ M.O.S , DJ D-Nice, Jaslene Gonzalez, Kirstie Alley, Maxwell, Tyson Beckford (who tried to ignore us when we asked for a picture of HIM not with him), O’Neal McKnight, Patricia Field, Q-Tip, Russell Simmons, Wynter Gordon, and a slew of of other fashionable types.
