Kellan Lutz Races Through to NYC to Deliver Party-Goers Champagne (Seriously)
Champagne is for celebration, this we know. But, how does a champagne company fête the official launch of their bottle? If you’re the makers behind, Maison Mumm, you call a big action star to debut the varietal in dramatic fashion. And we do mean dramatic– we are talking a splashy add featuring Kellan Lutz. The ad showcases, Kellan Lutz racing through various locations using speed boats, an airplane, private jet and other modes of transpiration to deliver Mumm Grand Cordon’s new bottle to champagne starved New York City denizens. And concluded with Lutz arriving at Lightbox on a motorcycle with new magnum bottle in hand.
“I consider myself a very daring person – I regularly rock climb and ride motorcycles – so when Mumm asked me to take part in the most daring champagne delivery I was up for the challenge!” said Lutz of the ad. “I tend to seek out projects that challenge me to push my boundaries so the Daring Delivery project opened me up to new experiences I have not done before, like parkouring across Brooklyn rooftops and driving a speedboat through the New York harbor.”
After Lutz appearance, guests including Chanel Iman, Alexandra Richards, NY Islanders’ Matt Martin, DJ Chelsea Leyland and other nightlife familiar faces, got a peek at the new bottle. The bottle, designed by multi-award-winning designer Ross Lovegrove, has no front label – instead, the G.H. Mumm signature and eagle emblem are printed in gold directly on the glass. Another striking feature of the design is its shape, which necessitated a whole series of innovations to the traditional champagne production process. It also features a reinterpretation of the famous Cordon Rouge red sash– it is now transformed into a red ribbon created with indented glass. As you would imagine, it is one of the most innovative design in the 189-year history of Maison Mumm yet true to the brand motto: Dare. Win. Celebrate. ‘
Here’s the ad in its full glory.
