The Mondavi Family Launches The Divining Rod Brand of Wines
This week, a small tasting was held in celebration of a new wine brand launch The Divining Rod. Guests were treated to tastings of the brand’s Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon at Madam Geneva in the East Village. As hors d’oeuvres like sliders and crab chowder circulated a crowd of hungry partygoers, Marc Mondavi, a self proclaimed “water witch,” was on hand to demonstrate the use of his Divining Rods. Marc has spent his lifetime working in the vineyards using his mysterious gift that enables him to successfully establish vineyards throughout California through the divining of water.
“Essentially grapevines need water to grow and because of the soil profiles and the heat, you have to augment with water. There are a few people that dry farm, and their production levels are way low,” said Marc Mondavi.
As a result of Marc’s ability to find water using his special powers and his divining rods, Marc has helped to successfully establish vineyard all over California. The Mondavi family’s new brand of wines reflects the success of their endeavors to find optimal planting ground for California vineyards. It is reflected in the taste. The Divining Rod Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon were delightful to the palate and a real crowd pleaser.
