How T.J. Maxx is Empowering Women To Live Life on Their Own Terms
T.J.Maxx a wallet friendly destination for today’s modern woman partnered up with best-selling author of Lifestyle on Your Terms and blogger, Katherine Schwarzenegger, on a 16-city cross-country tour.
The “Road to Real,” encourages women from across the country to share their stories on how they “live their lives on their own terms” and do so unapologetically. “When I heard about the tour, I felt that I had to be a part of it because its such perfect messaging: it was all about talking & connecting with real women and how they life their live on their own terms. A lot of what we do on my website is about lifestyle on your terms. The language matched perfectly, and I had an interest in it,” Schwarzenegger told us. “So, I feel very lucky to be able to travel around and hold these women’s stories and connect with so many inspiring women. I’m just really excited to be working with T.J.Maxx because they are giving a platform to so many amazing women.”
Schwarzenegger, whose work focuses on addressing important women’s topics, is a natural fit for such an initiative from the retailer. Her passion for inspiring women is clear (even from after chatting for just a few minutes), but so is her welcoming personality. A skill that will likely serve her well as she continues to interview women different from backgrounds and life experiences.
That’s part of what makes T.J.Maxx shopping so unique. Their breadth of selection are as unique as it shoppers. “We don’t have to look much further than our stores to uncover true inspiration, and have so much to learn from our shoppers and their stories,” explained Gina Bollus, spokesperson for T.J.Maxx. “Similar to T.J.Maxx stores, no two women are the same.”
This is experience shared by Schwarzenegger during her tour of meeting so many “amazing” women. She even recalled meeting a single mother raising two daughters saying “one of her daughters has autism and so she talked to me about the struggles of being a single mom and raising two kids—one that has autism—and the struggle that presented themselves there, but everything that she’s learned along the way. It was just something that was really interesting for me to listen to and just to see how many strong women they are out there.”
Ultimately, her key message to the women and the people she speaks too to look around for inspiration. “There are so many people around you and so many amazing women around that are so inspirational.”
The tour so far has seen stops at Boston, New York City, Washington D.C., Seattle, Los Angeles, San Diego, and will make stops Charlotte, Atlanta, Miami, Houston, New Orleans, Denver, Detroit, Chicago Minneapolis, and Kansas City and will end with gallery event in New York City. The event will naturally include an appearance from Schwarzenegger and unveiling of a collection of photography and stories captured along the road.
