Hot! Banana Republic Unveils Deliciously Savage Scent… for Men

Yesterday, Banana Republic held a lovely cocktail hour, in the penthouse of the Standard East, to celebrate the release of their new fragrance Wildblue for Men. This elegant gathering utilized a perfect space overlooking Manhattan during an enthralling city sunset of auburns and vivid yellows. Guests mingled and enjoyed hors d’oeuvres, champagne, and cocktails while a DJ colored the atmosphere with subtle yet fun tunes.

We were immediately enamored by this scent, Wildblue, which is intended for men but may have an allure for women, as the scent is intoxicatingly sensual but just soft enough to be a lady’s sexy little secret. We encourage the slightly adventurous woman to purchase a bottle for her lover as well as a secret bottle for herself for use as a reminder of the subtle, masculine scent of a clever, stylish, and daring aura of a modern and free-spirited man.

Women like fragrances that have a certain form and signature which is clean and addictive in a very sexy way. Women love to have an extension of their beauty,” said Jean-Claude Deville of Drom, renowned perfumer and creator of the fragrance.

Wildblue is derived from the five elements: earth, wind, air, fire, and water and has top notes of the heroic blues of fresh desert air along with milder notes of sage, white tea, beach cedar, and musk. Inspiration for the fragrance was as enchanting as the scent itself.

“I remember visiting Baja California. I was with a friend on the river in a boat and there was a majestic red formation overlooking the water and the sky, which were intertwining. For me it was a moment of cleanliness and natural attitude. Like a painter, I wanted to reproduce it.

The modern oval Wildblue bottle, which is embellished with a taupe woven cord, is stylish and perfect in shape and size for the masculine hand.

Wildblue Eau de Toilette retails for $45 and will be available exclusively at Banana Republic stores nationwide beginning June 2012.
