Camper + Architect Shigeru Ban Equals A Shoemazing Destination
It’s safe to say Camper’s new digs in SoHo have got people buzzing. This past Tuesday, a boisterous mélange of shoe lovers, hipsters, fashionistas, and architectural types packed Camper’s House of Shoes to the brim for a night of revelry and celebration. The evening included Estrella beer, Cava, Mediterranean cuisine, and music by DJ Matt Keys and of course a peek at the new store.
The 1,200 Sqft Retail Space (with an additional 1,200 SF of storage in the basement) designed by Japanese architect, Shigeru Ban, is the “first owner occupied building in New York,” hence the name; and features Ban iconic design elements in the form of a triangle atop the 110 Prince location which resembles a really fun tree house with lots of shoe. Obviously a match made in shoe heaven.
