Essence Cosmetics is Fashion Forward on a Budget
This past Wednesday, we attended a lovely spring and summer preview party for European based cosmetics brand Essence at Berrywild in Murray Hill. Originally founded in Germany in 2001, Essence can now be found in 35 countries, and it is beating the competition in nine of them! Talk about impressive! With products ranging from $0.99 to $3.99, you can be bold, daring, and fashion forward without risking breaking the bank.
A colorful display showcasing only a small portion of Essence’s extensive line of cosmetic products featured a plethora of glosses, shadows, liners, blushes, and nail lacquers, among other exciting beauty items. Amid champagne garnished with blue berries, finger sandwiches, and frozen yogurt by Berrywild, guests were encouraged to “shop” the line of products on display at no expense! Eager ladies fingered through shelves of color and glitter, enthusiastically exchanging make up tips and sampling products.
We were enamored by the variety of lip glosses and eye shadows in colors ranging from tame to daring. One particular shadow palette, the Essence Quattro Vamp It Up, was impressively daring. We decided to put these colors to the test. Make up artist Emma Katz showed how priming a lid with cream liner can make a bright yellow eye shadow pop. What a sexy summer look to go with the Mellow Yellow quick drying nail polish we snagged! Along with these, we were impressed by the gel eyeliner London Baby, a plum color that is applied with your angled eyeliner brush for a sharp, accurate, and alluring line.
