Perrier-Jouët Launches a Limited Edition Summer Varietal (and its Glorious)
I’d would be lying if I told you that I don’t enjoy champagne. In fact, I love bubbly as much as I do a family member. It is my spirit of choice for various reasons but one of them is that when champagne is poured it always feels so celebratory. Unsurprisingly, when I received an invitation to attend the launch of launch of Edition Première Vintage 2007 by Perrier-Jouët I had to attend. So, on Monday, I put on my rain appropriate gear and headed to Mondrain Soho’s newly opened rooftop for an intimate evening featuring glorious views and of course lots of sampling of Perrier-Jouët.
The new offering is highly limited (in fact only 500 bottles are available in the states) and pricey retailing at $225 but if you love a good bottle or have a major celebration its a great investment. “The Belle Epoque Edition Première cuvée is the unique expression of a vintage champagne, one that is to taste exclusively during spring. Floral, stylish and diamond-cut, the champagne echoes the excellence of the Perrier-Jouët terroir, and delicacy of the Chardonnay, the House’s elected grape,” gushes Cellar Master Hervé Deschamps. The Edition Première Vintage 2007 by Perrier-Jouët is a rich flavor varietal blended from Chardonnay Grands Crus along with a small amount of Pinot Noir for a pale pink hue with shades of peach.
