An Elegant Tasting Experience at the WhistlePig Whiskey Cocktail Hour
Last night, we attended a casual cocktail event for WhistlePig at the lovely Jimmy’s Rooftop Bar at the James Hotel. Located in Soho, this rooftop bar boasts a 360 degree view of Manhattan, providing a gorgeous backdrop to the city along with a mellow and elegant atmosphere. Although rain prevented the entire event from occurring in the outside space, inside, guests moved along the lavish indoor bar space and sampled WhistlePig’s rye whiskey, which is aged for 10 or more years and is hand bottled at the WhistlePig Farm Distillery in Shoreham, Vermont. Whiskey was served on the rocks and also in a lovely cocktail containing Vermouth and simple syrup.
“We are one of the few only rye whiskeys out there, so it’s a very unique taste that’s really tough to find,” said Steve, head of Operations and Finance at WhistlePig.
Various pork, cured meats, cheeses, breads, and olives were served to accompany tastes of the WhistlePig whiskey. All of the food pairings were so elegant that we unabashedly sat near the food trays, sampling each bite along with the rich and deeply flavorful liquor. What an indulgent tasting experience!
