Join Aveda Tomorrow In Setting a Guiness World Record
Tomorrow is Earth Day. In honor many companies are creating special initiatives including releasing limited edition products or implementing cool services. Aveda is one of the them. But is doing so differently. Not only is Aveda releasing limited edition a candle where 100% of proceeds will benefit charity and clean water programs (see the cool video below) but also is attempting to set a GUINNESS WORLD RECORD. Tomorrow, Aveda’s salons from around the world (including Tokyo, Sydney, Moscow, Los Angeles and New York) will work in tandem to raise the most money for charity in a 24-hour period by cutting hair.
In New York City at the Aveda Institute (233 Spring St), Director for Aveda, Ricardo Dinis, along with his team members, will donate time to offer everything from drastic makeovers to subtle Spring/Summer changes all in the name of charity. Additionally, the Aveda salon will also have a silent auction featuring items from local restaurants, shops, galleries, staff and students. Betel restaurant will provide catering with an authentic approach to Southeast Asian flavors and ingredients.
One hundred percent of proceeds from the NYC event will benefit the local charity, Clean Ocean Action, an organization that improves and protects the water quality of the ocean and local water ways in NY/NJ.
