New York & Company Fall 2011
Last Thursday (April 14), New York & Company hosted a cocktail party at Milk Studios in the Meatpacking District to showcase their Fall 2011 collection. The delightful collection which was broken into “moments” served as the perfect backdrop for the evening’s event, as servers doled out libations and drinks. Throughout the space guests were audible heard gushing about this collection, the first from David Witkewicz, Executive Vice President of Design for NY&C.
David Witkewicz, former Design Director of women’s Ready-to-Wear for Target (who worked on Liberty of London for Target collaboration), created a luxurious yet fairly affordable collection inspired by the rhythm of (not surprisingly) New York. Our eclectic style with our high energy and funky street style- whether the style is refined, boho or even vintage inspired style, is represented in this absolutely darling collection and its moments.
The moments include the chic fashionista and features bright color tops (think bright blue, plum, fuschia and the likes) and perfectly fitted pants; then there’s the boho fashionista with very feminine and gorgeous silhouettes that include printed loose fitting dresses, faux fur vest and pencil skirts; followed by the effortless fashionista, who looks fashionable as she carelessly traipses the city, this moment features retro-chic capes, wide leg pants, gorgeous handbags and the most amazing trench coat that is seriously a must-have; and lastly the fashionable worker and our favorite moment, included an impressive array of dresses, delicous coats, ruffled skirts, and great accessories. We just loved the fitted dress with slight embellishment (expected to retail for $69) because it can translate well from day-to-evening with ease.
Overall, we are very impressed with this collection, and the clearly new direction, the pieces feel just divine and given the price point we think you will as well. And, if David is to be believed this is only beginning of the “New” New York & Company. If this collection is indication of whats to company there’s a lot to look forward too.
