Rooftop Films & PIPER-HEIDSIECK Hosted a Private Party for New Documentary
“Without craft, there’s no artistry,” says Seymour Bernstein, a concert pianist, during a poignant scene in the recently released documentary: SEYMOUR: AN INTRODUCTION A Film By Ethan Hawke. While this might seem like a dig at seemingly talentless reality stars, its far from it. Instead, it demonstrates the undercurrent of the film, that of a talented musician whose loves for his art is as intense as his love for teaching. The documentary, which we previewed during a special screening held at St. Bartholomew Church and presented by Rooftop Films and PIPER-HEIDSIECK, chronicles the inspiring life of Seymour Bernstein who was lauded for skills during the height of his career and yet decided to walk away from the limelight, to teach a crop of pianist the tricks of the trade.
In addition, to getting a sneak peek at the movie, ahead of the screening guests in attendance got to mingle with Ethan Hawke, Mark Ruffalo, Parker Posey, Carmen Ejogo, Tate Donovan, Vincent D’Onofrio, Vanessa Bayer and more. The movie is currently in theaters. But check a clip of Mr. doing what he does best.
