Steve Madden, Jessica White, Derek Warburton, Attend Doe Fund Fundraiser
A group of charitable types arrived at Chelsea’s Metropolitan Pavilion to attend The Doe Fund first annual sweet: New York fundraiser in support of Ready, Willing and Able’s “men in blue.” The lovely event featured dishes prepared by culinary artist Madison Cowan, grand champion of the Food Network’s Chopped, as well as treats from Baked by Melissa, Godiva, Tow, Mirror Imaging, and Pescatore. There was a notable variety of sweet and savory delights available for attendees to sample. Select specialty drinks also complimented the array of tasty bites.
Partygoers danced to some fun tunes mixed by DJ Chelsea Leyland, and others mingled among notable New Yorkers such as fashion designer Steve Madden, who was in attendance with his wife Wendy Madden. Other notable guests included one of our favorite people, stylist Derek Warburton, model Jessica White, jewelry designer Genevieve Jones, and art connoisseur Kipton Cronkite.
A silent auction also benefited the program, consisting of items from brands such as Coach, Steve Madden, and Betsey Johnson as well as art from Albert Cheung, Terence Koh, and Rick Bolen.
Ready, Willing and Able is a program under the Doe Fund that benefits homeless individuals, providing resources to learn job skills, obtain work, and become self-sufficient individuals confident in contributing to society and their communities. Since the program targets single, healthy adults, the program requires that potential participants simply be ready, willing and able to work and maintain a clean lifestyle free of drugs.
The Doe Fund, under which this program is funded and operated, is a human service agency dedicated to improving lives through paid work, workforce development, housing services, drug testing, and counseling along with countless other services for persons in need. What a worthy cause.
