Hot! Last Minute Places to View the Oscars in NYC

If you’re looking for a last minute place to view the Oscars that doesn’t involve you sitting on your couch while pretend you’re a style critic. Here are two options.

SRO pizza speakeasy will take over the Espoleta space and screen the big night on a large projector screen for patrons. The gorgeous space will be transformed for the evening’s viewing party, and the SRO menu will be served all night.  Tonight the speakeasy will also take over the chandelier-filled Espoleta. Guests will enjoy the regular $38 three-course tasting menu, including a choice of appetizer, pizza, and dessert, as well as three beverage pairings (wine, beer and non-alcoholic drinks). With the exception of the classic Margherita and Adriani’s famous fried Montanara, which are always available, the pizzas will be Giulio Adriani’s whimsical daily creations.

JIMMY at The James NY will have an exclusive Oscars menu featuring light fare. Guests who decide to camp at the beautiful will have the options to indulge in signature cocktail by partner/mixologist Johnny Swet including The Golden Boy (full recipe below). Additionally host Miss Elizabeth James will help MC (and play music during commercial breaks) the night festivities. And, yes guests will even have the option to vote alongside the Academy with provided awards ballots.  This will all lead up to three lucky grand prize winners for whoever gets the most categories right! To round out this full-fledged viewing party, expect hand-crafted cocktails as well as beer, wine & champagne. Don’t forget to satisfy your appetite with bar selection of bites including  Kobe Beef Pigs in a Blanket, Flatbread Pizzas, Cheeseburger Sliders, Chicken Satay Skewers with peanut dipping sauce and grilled pineapple, Maine Lobster Salad with endive and celery seed aioli and event Cheese & Charcuterie Plates.
