Hot Beauty Buy: ATOPALM Intensive Moisturizing Cream
Much to our dismay, winter is still stubbornly around. For most of the year, I use Neutrogena Body Oil right after the shower and it’s efficient at locking in moisture. But my skin is really sensitive, and with the particularly brisk temperatures and harsh winds lately, it’s been prone to dryness and rough patches (yuck).
I gave ATOPALM Intensive Moisturizing Cream a shot and now I’m addicted. First thing to know about the product- it has a concentrated, waxy texture, unlike the creamy texture of moisturizers that we are all used to. Secondly, the ATOPALM brand is specially formulated to treat dry and sensitive skin.
How it works: the formula mimics natural skin lipids and replenishes lost lipids while preventing over-evaporation of skin’s natural moisture. It’s gentle enough to use as a face cream but also strong enough to target dry areas on the body.
For any of you that face skin conditions like psoriasis, rosacea, and eczema, seeing as how common they are… you might be interested to know about the more extensive testing I did for this product review this time around, courtesy of my boyfriend – he has eczema on his hands and is always looking to try new formulas to find the next best treatment. Aside from getting used to the waxy texture when applying the cream, he really saw a difference- his hands felt noticeably less dry and the very light scent was soothing and “neutral” (not artificial and not medicinal). If any of the above skin conditions are a concern for you, you might also want to check out ATOPALM’s sister brand PSORIAPALM, which is a new OTC psoriasis product line.
