Ruffian Boys Document Model Transformations Backstage
Backstage at a fashion show is always a fascinating experience. Backstage with Ruffian was even more mesmerizing. The Ruffian boys, Brian Wolk and Claude Morais, always working to show the public the evolution of their models behind the curtain, tried a new initiative for their Fall/Winter 2014 show. “Ruffian Transforms” was a project created to show the transformation of the Ruffian models from street to runway in partnership with Hasselblad, the world renown cameras. The models stepped in the backstage area of the tents and were immediately snapped by fashion photographer Jodi Jones with the newly released Hasselblad HV for the “before” shot. After hair, makeup, and dress, the models were ready for their final picture as Ruffian runway models. The Ruffian boys admitted that the craziness of everything backstage before the show made “Ruffian Transforms” harder to realize. But in the end, it was the perfect documentation of what happens to make models runway ready. —Brit Sellers/ ICFashionChic
