Hot! Monika Chiang Fall 2012

SHOW: Monika Chiang Fall 2012

INSPIRATION: “By the jolt to the senses experienced when seemingly contradictory elements combine in unexpected ways, whether it be Jeff Koon’s groundbreaking exhibition at Versailles, the eclecticism of Daisy Fellowes, the facade of the Dresden Military History Museum or the work of acclaimed architect Zaha Hadid.”

WHO WAS THERE: Interior decorator/best selling author/and Bravo reality star Mary McDonald,  Elettra Wiedemann,  Hannali Mustaparta, Stephanie Winston Wolkoff

HAIR: Aveda; MAKEUP: Tarek Abbas for Lancôme

WHAT WE THOUGHT: Chiang’s collection has a look for every woman. A mix of fitted leather jackets, printed shearlings and wool pieces gave us rockstar chic. Each piece was elegant and affluent. Leather opera gloves and mink equestrian hats brought back glam and an over the top way. Exaggerated zippers gave the coats a fun playful edge. Chiang’s accessories didn’t disappoint either. Shiny alligator clutches, crazy high platform booties, and spiked embossed sneakers. There was literally something for everyone in this collection. Seemed all over the place, but still told a story. A story a woman who is fun, fearless, and spunky. Our favorites looks are the leather body suit in black, the alpaca trapeze jacket and of course the high top sneakers adorned with spikes. —Tania Jen
