#NYFW Backstage Beauty: Public School Fall 2015
“The look was inspired by the 90’s and the girl’s that went clubbing,” Antoinette Beenders explained backstage at the Public School Fall 2015 presentation. The look featured a mix of dry and wet hair with a slight wave. On the top of the hair was this cool wet wavy style that got drier as the it got to the end. The hair was a fun take on ‘sweating to the oldies.
To create the look Beenders applied a decent amount of Aveda’s Brilliant™ Retexurizing Gel the top of the hair. She then combed the product from the top of the head to the ears. This helped create an effortlessly cool “wet look.” After the gel was applied, Beenders and her team added drops of Dry Remedy Daily Moisturizing Oil to add shine to the locks. She then finished the look by creating finger waves on both the right side and the left side of the hair then clipping the hair to set in place and finally adding a cover to dry the hair. Finally once the top was dried, the team letting the net loose and the models were ready to make their runway debut.
“They all coming from different place so they are coming to the same place,” Maybelline’s Grace Lee told us backstage. So the look was cohesive with a focus on the lips. Overall the look is fresh with very groomed eyebrows, slightly contour eye brows and a slightly nude lips. On the lips Lee used Maybelline’s Master Shape Brow pencil in Blonde to create a new and fresh modern take on the 90’s.
