Tadashi Shoji F/W 2011 Collection
Tadashi Shoji collection that graced the runway drew inspiration from the harmony among man, architecture and nature – birds dancing, branches and moss intertwining, the reflection of light and shadows in the water. With this imagery in mind, it was only fitting that he would open the show with the song “Moon In The Water” by Underworld.
The colors of the collection resembled elements of nature such as eclipse, graphite, sun-glow, horizon, moss and black floral. Clean lines and refined gowns were adorned with lace detail, ruffles, draping techniques, fur and feathers. A white knee-length cocktail dress with sheer long sleeves and feather detail along the front of the bodice raised plenty of cameras in the audience.
Dannijo jewelry accented the poise of the collection with bold statement pieces, that were not too overwhelming.
Makeup by Luc Bouchard for MAC Cosmetics was soft and natural with rosy pinks on the cheeks and lips. Hair was parted on the side and left down for a simple, angelic look that did not detract from the designs.
The show, though not cutting-edge, was entertaining and the exquisite designs are perfect for any formal event from a cocktail party to a gala or wedding.
