What We Thought:
While you may not be familiar with the name Alon Livne, that’s definitely not the case for fashion lovers in the Middle East. The designer has an established business presence in Tel Aviv, and from his start in the industry (training at Alexander McQueen) to now, his Autumn/Winter 2013 collection crowns the eighth season of his eponymous line.
When it comes to fashion, there’s always a way to reinvent and reinterpret black. Livne did just that, with a range of ensembles from tailored pantsuits to floor length dresses that featured extremely form fitting shapes and dramatic geometric construction. And where this collection obviously lacked color, it made up for in fine detail – the ornate beading and careful placement of sheer fabric vs. hard lines.
If the apocalypse were to come and we survived through it, we could only hope to be dressed so fabulously as Alon Livne’s most recent showcase.
