#NYFW Backstage Beauty Report: Pamella Roland Fall 2014
“The inspiration for the collection was 1930’s New York,” Ted Gibson shared as he prepped a model backstage of the Pamella Roland show. “So I wanted to created sexy, delicate and glamorous hair.” To create the look Gibson brushed the hair completely with a round and sprayed the hair with Ted Gibson Build it Blow Drying Agent. Once completed the hair was wrapped around a medium barrel Marcel iron and pinned into tiny “s” shaped curls. After the hair was fully pinned Gibson team wrapped the hair in a silk scarf. This was done to cool the hair and set the curls. Finally, the wrap and pins were removed. Gibson lightly ran his fingers through the models hair and then brushed it to the side to create the signature “S” shaped waved.
Like the hair, the beauty look was inspired by the city-lights and the “precisely casual” city girl. Matin Maulawizada’s Laura Mercier Global Ambassador, created a very casual look with a bold lip and hint of glitter around the eye to replicate “twinkle of New York.” For the shimmering eyes Maulawizada, used a thick layer of Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Khaki, ($26) the eyelids. Then he used the tip of his finger, and he gently applied a thin layer of silver glitter that was specifically created for the show. On the lips, Matin used Laura Mercier Creme Smooth Lip Colour in Merlot, and applied in an heart shape and lightly blotted for a slightly worn and casual feel.
To complete the look, nail guru Pattie Yankee of Patricia Nail Lacquer, worked with Pamella to create a signature red and slightly glittery polish. The color is named Pamella and will debut this fall.
