Marissa Webb Fall 2013
Presentation: Marissa Webb Fall 2013
Inspiration: Evolution of the contrast between menswear and womenswear.
Hair: Tommy Buckett for Garnier; Makeup: Charlotte Willer for Maybelline
What We Thought:
Silk, lace, and tweed… all in one collection. Marissa Webb’s sophomore collection showcased an evolution of the designer’s fascination with the contrast between the structure usually found in menswear and the soft lines of womenswear.
If there’s one way to describe the collection, it’s that the details of it are truly meticulous. From delicately embroidered collars to hems trimmed in leather, Marissa Webb Fall 2013 includes a wide range of playful twists on classic looks. This is no collection for little girls to play dress up in – rather, the pieces speak to Marissa Webb’s investment in the woman who is sophisticated in taste and seasoned in style – a woman who knows what she wants.
To complement the versatility of the collection, ranging from the tougher lines created by tweed to the feminine flow of silk, makeup was kept rather muted and naturally pretty.
