#NYFW: IRC Hosts New Roots Pop-Up with Chef David Burke
Today and tomorrow, celebrity chef and New Roots Spokesperson David Burke will prepare and serve a Grab & Go lunch featuring fresh produce, International Rescue Committee’s first ever New Roots Pop-Up during NYFW at the Empire Hotel.
The IRC is one of the world’s leading humanitarian aid organizations. At work in some of the world’s most complex conflict zones, including Syria, Afghanistan, & Democratic Republic of Congo, the IRC is focused on giving refugees and others who have been displaced by war or natural disaster the tools they need to rebuild their communities and their lives.
Guests will also enjoy juices by Suja – specifically their Elements Tropicaloe drink. A portion of the sales of this Suja flavor is donated to support the IRC. In addition, long time IRC supporter Threads for Thought will outfit the staff in t-shirts made from sustainable materials. Limoneira will supply all of the lemons for the recipes that will be created at the IRC New Roots Pop-Up.
