"Parisian photographer Fernand Fonssagrives and his work with light and shadow on the female body were the first inspiration for my Fall/Winter 2014 collection. His photographs were high in contrast, graphically powerful, and celebrated the female figure," Christian Siriano

"Evening the playing field through sheer femininity," Norisol Ferrari

"For Fall 2014 I was inspired by the abstract expressionist, Mark Rothko, who articulated colors of emotions," Son Jung Wan

"We’ve teamed up with Ruthie Davis who does the most amazing shoes. Our inspiration for the shoes to go with DUCKIE BROWN Women is children’s toys,” Duckie Brown

“Fall/Winter 2014 references Parisian street artist Philippe Baudelocque and the use of dimensional layering of textures and patterns. The idea of fragile work in an urban environment plays on the rare complexity of unexpected pairings of colors, techniques and fabrics. Rounded coats layered with sheer cut-work dresses, boxy jackets and lofty sweaters, paired with tailored cropped pants create an interesting balance between soft and angular. Matelassé organza applied over technical mesh experiments with dimension, while metallic glazed jacquards and chain sequence detailing create a sense of edge in a modern and controlled way. High-shine metallics are grounded by muted shades of neutrals in stormy gray, steel blue, lavender and ecru, for an overall feel of compelling simplicity and streetwise chic,” Rebecca Taylor

"Our inspiration was Gustav Klimt's Beech Forest," Badgley Mischka

"Fall 2014 our senses awakened to the city’s overlooked curiosities and magic—and tempt us to fall in love again with the places and things we think we know, but have more to offer than what lives in our imagination," Manel Jadraque for Desigual

"Every saint has a past, and every sinner has a future,” Oscar Wilde -- Angel Sanchez

"The BCBGMAXAZRIA Fall 2014 collection is inspired by the landscapes and scenery of Louisiana and the bayou. The juxtaposition of reflections, water and sky inspired the blues and natural tones in the Fall 2014 collection. Collection colors include warm neutrals and greys offset with rich terracotta and cool blue,” Lubov Azria, Chief Creative Officer of BCBGMAXAZRIAGROUP

“The Hervé Léger by Max Azria Fall 2014 collection is inspired by the beauty of nature and animal patterns. Collection colors include shades of warm grey, rich navy, dark greens, with bright pops of color.”

"For my fall 2014 collection, I drew inspiration from Northern Africa and all of the textiles, jewelry, and elements of nature picked up along the way. The journey continues..." Mara Hoffman

"A rainbow is created by refraction, total reflection, and the dispersion of light. It is visible when the sun is shining through air containing water spray or raindrops, which occurs during or immediately after a rain shower. The bow is always observed in the opposite side of the sky from the sun... but knitted," DEGEN

"I wanted to give women of the city the glamorous strength to take on winter. To appreciate the beauty of winter I collaborated with artist Morgan Stuart tocreate a print of a winter motif that I resonated with and acknowledged before: the carnivorous winter.

Winter is a force that you must survive, and so I looked to strength for inspiration. The 1940s "We can do it!" wartime attitude showed strong womanhood like no other, assuming mens jobs for the first time in history. This spark of female spirit was incredibly inspiring to me, looking to the glamour of this time period for my FW14 collection and giving it a modern update. My eyes were drawn to the fashions in the movies and street style of this era. I wanted to show women that they can survive the carnivorous winter and look flawless doing it," Heather Lawton

"New York, like a proverbial phoenix rising from the ashes. My first journey to New York reflects basics of a typical tourist, it evoked yearning despite horror stories I heard in my country about New York City and I asked myself, why should Frizt Langs’ Metropolis be a piece of reality somewhere in the under-ground? Or that unforgettable breakfast at Tiffany’s. Where even the ugly return to you the beautiful boundless soul of its inhabitants," David Tlale

"Tibetan purity," Bibhu Mohapatra

“For Fall 2014, Kaal E. Suktae channels the angst-ridden spirit of the 1990’s. The collection takes a modern approach to grunge with oversized, structural silhouettes. Layers of leather, wool, sateen and velvet in monotonous hues of black, brown, grey and ivory with splashes of emerald green and ink blue redefine the look of grunge,” Suk-Tae Lee, designer of Kaal E. Suktae

“For my Fall 2014 collection I draw inspiration from my distorted memory of a white coat worn by a woman one winter day. Conceptualized through select silhouettes in varying colors, patterns and textures, this collection represents the adaptations of a memory our minds can make when reminiscing on past experiences,” Choi Bo Ko , designer of Choiboko

For my Fall/Winter 2014 Collection, I wanted to paint a romantic moment spent between two loved ones over dinner. The collection takes a literal approach to the scene, incorporating the familiar checked table cloth pattern into simplistic silhouettes, off-set with antiqued hardware,” Park Youn Soo, designer of Big Park

The Tracy Reese Fall 2014 collection draws inspiration from juxtapositions, playing the loud and ecstatic against the pragmatic and quietly complex to create classically modern silhouettes in commanding cloths. The collection takes an intimate look at self-expression, intermixing utility pieces with unique elements that provide pops of personality and spirit. Collection highlights include menswear inspired silhouettes, oversized embroidered sweaters, fringe detailing, gold and gunmetal beading and lamé and heathered tweet knits, anchored by a palette of playful colors that are tempered by neutral, muted tones. A metallic anorak paired with a sexy slip creates an unexpected look that is undeniably modern. Self-expression is perpetuated by collection accents in metallic leathers, ostrich trims and jeweled and feather details.

"The exuberance of New York City’s architecture as captured by TJ Wilcox’s In The Air exhibit at the Whitney Museum,” Pamella DeVos, President and Designer of pamella roland

This Fall 2014 collection is our take on Scandinavian art, folklore and woodlands -- WHIT

"Fall 2014 explores nature deconstructed through an infrared lens. Menswear inspired elements, hand painted prints combined with geometric lines and a saturated color palette commends the modern woman," Rachel Roy

"Sporty Couture," Yoana Baraschi

"I was inspired by the 100th year anniversary celebration of the Golden Era of Beverly Hills Made Modern. We wanted to combine the grace and feminine air of that classic time with the flashing lights and energy of city glamour. Colors and silhouettes from the past were combined with prints and details that reflect an intense city edge." -- Alessandra Meskita, designer Meskita

“This season’s inspiration is a midnight stroll in Paris –the mystery, architecture and romance” Rachel Turzer, designer Kora Rae

"This season I am inspired by “Little Lord Fauntleroy” with touches of Baroque influences. The Charlotte Ronson girl this season exceeds confidence with a mix of a hopeless romantic, fearless edge, and tomboy flare, " Charlotte Ronson

“Ray of light, ” Elie Tahari

“My inspiration are some of the great American contemporary artists interrupting their extraordinary creativeness into my fall 2014 collection,” Dennis Basso

“Fall 2014 is inspired by graphic architectural detail and old world French Parisian couture techniques while also incorporating a dark romantic side,” Monique Lhuillier

"Tradition and innovation meet in modern fabrications of plaids, herringbones and pinstripes, with a consistent interplay between soft and tailored," Kenneth Cole

“Moorish influenced architecture and textiles,” Tadashi Shoji
