The Body Shop Launches “The Stop Bag”
Sex trafficking of vulnerable people affects us all; and while coverage often feature young victims from underdevelop nations, Americans are also affected. The Body Shop along with ECPAT USA and The Somaly Mam Foundation want to call action to the practice and bring a voice to those who are ignored.
Today in honor of National Human Trafficking Awareness Day (which was yesterday) the partners handed a petition, with over 720,000 signatures, to Rob McKenna, President of the National Association of Attorneys General. The petition according to the release “demonstrates the extent of public concern on the sex trafficking crisis affecting children and young people here in the US and across the world.”
And, the body shop is also selling a limited edition bag, The Stop Bag. Proceeds from the reusable tote bag, which was created in collaboration with Tamara Mellon, support innocent victims.
